Week Twenty Eight Of The Country Garden Crochet Along

Week twenty eight of the country garden crochet along blog image

It’s week 28 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re starting our final panel using the BiColour stitch. An unusual stitch where each stitch is made with 2 separate colours. You will be using your main colour for the bottom of the stitch and your accent colour for the top of the stitch.

If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry

This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:

  • ch (Chain)
  • sc (single crochet) = Double crochet

If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

This stitch looks different on each side. If you prefer the look on the back, then start row 1 on the back side of your blanket

Row 1. Join with Colour A into the stitch above the corner of the plain arrow panel.

in the 1st stitch, insert your hook and pull through Colour A

using the main colour of the bicolour stitchfinishing the bicolour stitch with the accent colour

Now pick up Colour C, and pull it through the 2 loops and try to keep this part loose as you will be working into these loops later. This then makes a whole sc.

Row 3. Repeat row 1, except switch Colour C for Colour D
