It’s week 20 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making this beautiful Puff Flower square which we will be attaching between the Arrow and Colour work Diamond panels. This should be a nice easy week after the last few challenging weeks completing our diamond and arrow panels.
If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry
This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- ch (Chain)
- sc (single crochet) = Double crochet
- dc (double crochet) = treble crochet
If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

Round 1. With Color D make a magic loop, then ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) make 8 dc into the loop then slst into the 1st dc.
Round 2. Ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) In the same stitch make a puff (YO and pull up a loop 5 times – you will have 11 loops on your hook),
then YO and pull through all loops
*ch 2, in the next stitch make a puff* repeat between *and* slst into the top of 1st puff. cut off – 8 puffs
Round 3. join with Colour J into the top of any puff stitch.
ch 2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) *make a puff stitch into the top of the puff, ch 2, make a puff in the chain space, ch2* Repeat between *and* slst into the top of the 1st puff. Cut off – 16 puffs
Round 4. Join with Colour A into any ch space.
sc in the next 11 stitches. *In the same chsp make (sc, dc, ch space, dc, sc) all in the same stitch. Make a sc in the next 11 stitches* repeat between *and* slst into the first sc – cut off and weave in your ends
Now you need to whip stitch between the Arrow and colour work diamond panels using a length of Colour A, using the back loops only. Each dc row of the panels will join into 2 stitches of this square, and each sc row will join into 1 stitch.
