You can find the links for all the squares in the crochet along here. The free pattern is below, but if you’d like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for £5 from Ravelry

This pattern is written in US terms, but you can find the UK term translation below

UK Translation

Double crochet (dc) = treble crochet

front post single crochet = front post double crochet

You will need a 4mm hook for this square

Start by making a foundation chain of 32

Row 1. In 4th chain from your hook make 2 dc. *Skip 3 stitches and sc, chain 3 and make 3 dc in the same stitch as the sc* repeat the pattern between the *and* sc in the last stitch.

Row 2. Alternate turning chain in the first stitch, and make 2 dc in the same stitch. *In the 3rd dc of the group of 3 in the previous row, front post single crochet. Chain 3 and in the chain 3 space from row 1 make 3 dc* repeat the pattern across the row, ending in a front post single crochet in the last dc of the previous row.

Raised groups ch 3

Rows 3-15. Repeat row 2

Row 16. Chain 5. Slip stitch into the top of the 3rd dc of the cluster. *chain 3, slip stitch in the top of the 3rd dc of the cluster* repeat until the end of the row and tie off

The Border

The bottom edge – make 3 sc over each chain of 3 skipped stitches, and 1 sc in the bottom of each cluster of sc and 3 dc. There will be an extra sc in the bottom of the turning chain.

Sides – Make 2 sc in the side of each rows.

The top – make 4sc in each chain 3 space. Make an extra sc in the top of the first and last dc.

You should have 30 sc down each side, plus an extra stitch in each corner for the turn. This will make your stitch count as 32 stitches across each side and 124 stitches total (remember the extra stitch corner stitch is counted in the stitch count for both sides)

You have now finished your square and join and you can tie off and weave in the ends

You can now add the interlocking border, joining this weeks square to last weeks as you join. You can see how to do this here

If you have any questions about the pattern or the CAL, then come on over to the Facebook group – 50 Stitches where you can show us your completed squares too.
